In the wake of that news, it seemed all anyone could talk about was the metaverse, and that extended to the legal industry, and even to law firms forming metaverse offices on virtual reality platforms such as Decentraland.
But is the metaverse something that law firms really should be considering?
In his article, Should Lawyers Consider Practicing Law in the Metaverse?, Jason Broughton, chief design officer at LexisNexis, argues against law firms rushing into virtual reality.
“From a product design perspective, the metaverse may not be ready for the legal industry for quite a long time,” he writes.
